Core Collection - MAC Foundation

Happy Friday!

Foundation is amazing. With such a wide variety of brands, textures and colours everyone can find one for them that looks perfect and matches. You need to try out foundations a few times to see what one best suits you. I personally have oily combination skin, so mousse and powder foundations rub off easily and add to my oil build up whereas liquid foundations are perfect. I have purchased a range of coverage foundation, and again dislike lighter coverage products that have to be applied sparingly because I have frequent blemishes that I prefer to cover up. These are all things you can experiment with when trying out products, and ensure you can customise your look to your needs.

I have again always loved MAC products. They match my skin tone every time I visit in store to ensure the best looking coverage that blends perfectly. They also are happy to apply products onto your face, showing you the best application techniques and what suits you the best. If in doubt visit the store and request tester pots of any products, which means at home you can experiment and play with the product.

I have sampled all of the MAC foundations to date, with my favourite being MAC studio fix fluid and MAC pro long wear as a close second. Studio fix fluid has an SPF 15, which ensures your skin is protected and avoids you having to find a moisturiser with an SPF also. Studio fix fluid is a matte finish, medium coverage product designed to be easily buildable. It's long wear, applies smoothly and easily, and contains special powder pigments which absorb oil throughout that day. This ensures to keep oily skin at bay, whilst keeping a smooth flawless look.  The product comes in a stylish glass bottle, but a separate pump will need to be purchased to ensure the product lasts as long as possible and none is wasted.

I would strongly recommend this product for anyone struggling with oil and blemish conrol, or someone looking for a buildable foundation which is versatile. I have always found this to be the best foundation, and although a little pricy, the product lasts and justifies the spend. Once you go to a high end product you will notice the difference.

Hope you love it as much as I have!

Core collection - Concealers

Welcome back!

Hope you had a wonderful weekend and are ready for the week ahead! Decided to post another blog about my core make-up pieces that are part of my every day routine! Today I am focusing on concealers, the answer to pesky spots, dark circles and the odd skin discoloration many people suffer with. I also use concealers to build my base make up, creating a fuller look ideal for nights out or special occasions where you want a more full on look!

I use a range in brands and priced concealers, so can hopefully provide everyone with a product recommendation that they will love and can afford!

Firstly Collection Cosmetics Lasting Perfection Concealer. I own too many of these as I find them a fantastic hand bag product that is usable on the move and quickly! The packaging is nothing special, but the product is lasting and covers blemishes perfectly. I own shades one (fair) and two (medium cool) as I find I can highlight certain areas if needs be, and also mix the products in case my skin tone changes as I start to tan.
One negative is the product can start to look cakey and clumpy on the skin if heavily applied and not blended thoroughly, but this can easily be avoided with delicate application. Definitely worth a purchase if looking to start a make up collection, or add to your current make up bag with a quick and efficient product!

Next is the MAC prolong wear concealer, which is my must have all time favorite product! This concealer is amazing and my ultimate favorite. I have oily combination skin, so finding a concealer that sits on all areas of my skin is difficult due to having so many different skin types! It lasts really well and sets with a little powder to give a flawless look! I usually apply a little under my eyes and nose and then on problem areas, then buffing it in with a brush to ensure the best coverage!

This product can also be a stand alone product, used on its own to cover problem areas when you want a very light coverage. The product itself is build-able to make a full coverage look, so is very flexible to meet everyone's needs!

If you go into any MAC store they are happy to apply to your skin for you to feel how the product sits on your face, color match and show you products that also compliment the look you wish to achieve!

Final product is Benefits Boi-ing concealer, a compact industrial strength product aimed at smoothing and hiding dark circles and moisturising skin. I personally find on my combination skin that can get quite oily the product doesn't last very long, and application can be difficult as the product looks cakey and thick when applied to my problem areas.

I also feel the product is rather pricey for the amount of product and the lack of coverage it provide for my skin type, so I wouldn't recommend this product for anyone with oily, problem skin or anyone who likes build-able or full coverage make up! A little disappointing but I'm sure suits other skin types perfectly!

Hope this has been of use to you! Stay tuned for more blogs on my core collections! Happy shopping and happy Monday!

Love,

Welcome to My Blog - Core Collection Benefit's 'Gimme Brow'!

Hello!

Decided to start my official blog after constantly posting on Instagram my make up reviews and being limited to how many picture I can take!

If you have seen my Instagram I'm sure by now you would have realised I am a self taught make up lover who is constantly buying new products and testing out new things on the quest for the perfect products for my everyday look! Make up can truly change the shape and look of your whole face and there is a solution for every one who is looking to start using make up, no matter how little time and money you have!

Make up can be expensive but by carefully researching and finding deals your money can go a long way! Especially when buying lasting, quality products that will last you ages and form the basis of your collection!

My first blog is about my current brow product 'Gimme Brow'. A benefit product that is a fairly new to my make up collection! I have fallen in love with the product and would now consider it a core piece within my make up collection! A brush on product, formed by a gel and fiber solution that adheres to the skin and hairs giving brows a fuller looking appearance! It's water resistant, long wearing, and very natural looking.
For anyone looking for an easy and quick solution to have fuller looking brows this product is worth a try. It's really quick to apply, looks natural and lasts a long time.
